Moving into a new stage of life (such as a new location or lifestyle) often requires letting go of old heavy energy from the past.
Overwhelming feelings can happen when you’re in the middle of making changes and still have the issues of the past to clean-up.
Here’s a few approaches that could help you progress towards a new stage of life:
- Schedule Your Worries: If there is something that could possibly not work out in the future – plan on worrying about that then. Controlling the future right now is impossible, focus on what you can control in the present moment.
- Go General: If the details of the change are making you feel overwhelmed, change your thoughts to a more general perspective. For example, if you are overwhelmed with the details of moving to a new place start with breaking out the general tasks that need to be done, such as find a place to live, find a moving company, find a doctor. Go back and fill in the details later.
- Help Others: Sometimes when our own lives start to take up too much energy; switching the focus to others helps to boost positive energy. Taking the focus off of ourselves for a moment to make another person feel better helps gain more clarity in our own lives. With better focus, better decisions are made.
- Space Clearing: Nothing helps better with issue resolution and decision making then clearing out all the clutter in your spaces – getting rid of stuff you don’t need. Find a closet, drawer, or room that has a lot of clutter and clear it out. Remove all things that have no value and have not been looked at in a while. Organize the things that stay in a way that improves the energy of the space. The results may shock you – you will have more clarity in making decisions to move your life to the next level.
